sub domains available
We have bought webspace for
www.thecatenianassociation.org
This means that Catena Online will be ready soon. It will be in
Acrobat PDF format so get yourself an acrobat reader from
www.adobe.com or from the directory CDRom.
A by product of this is that we now can provide circles and provinces
with subdomains. I shall set up subdomains for the provinces in the
form of thecatenianassociation.org/p14 etc.. (note that the www is
unnecessary)
Circles that seek a subdomain such as thecatenianassociation.org/charterhouse or
thecatenianassociation.org/c49 please advise me and I will create the
subdomain name. But please choose only one!
I will not create the subdomain unless specifically asked by a circle
with an existing website providing me with the background URL to
which it should forward.
So those without websites, go ahead and create one or get a son,
wife, grandson, local school to set one up for your circle.
Note that this provides auto webforwarding to freespace such as
www.catenians.hemscott.net in the case of our circle. For security
and password control reasons circles will not have access to the
association's webspace.
I am a financial innovation consultant and know little about IT so if
there is an IT guru who knows how to set up passwords for sub domains
at no cost to the association, do let me know. We use www.uk2.net
The choice is yours but I find names easier to remember than numbers.
It is easier to remember the DTI or even the long dead MOT than a
Brussels DG15. So I have chosen Charterhouse not c49.
BTW could brothers advise their circles of this development? It would
be nice to see more circle websites up and running by the time of the
Eastbourne conference. There are currently 33 circle websites. See
